Symons Event Safety supports Coachella and StagecoachMusic Festivals
The Event Safety Division of Symons Ambulance was proud to partner with the Coachella Music Festival and Stagecoach Music Festival this spring to provide medical services during both events. Symons provided EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physicians, ambulances and first aid stations to help keep the event safe and keep unneccessary transfers to hospitals to a minimum. Coachella is known worldwide as one of the largest music festivals in the world. In addition to the usual medical care provided, Symons also provided telemedicine services on-site allowing the expertise of a tertiary care center to virtually be on site at the Coachella Music Festival. Symons had numerous mini-ambulances on the property to transport patients to ambulances and/or one of several first aid or advanced care centers on the property.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly known as Coachella) is a three-day annual music and arts festival organized by Goldenvoice and held at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, CA. The event features many genres of music including alternative rock, hip hop, and electronic music as well as large sculpural art. The event has several stages/tents set-up throughout the grounds, each playing music continuously. The main stages are: Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre, Gobi Tent, Mojave Tent, and the Sahara Tent.
From April 16-18, 2010 the 11th Coachella drew over 75,000 spectators each day. Headliners included Jay-Z, Muse and Gorillaz. 2010 was the first year Coachella had on-site parking/camping. Symons provided 24 hours/day medical coverage to the various campgrounds in addition to the main stage areas during the days. (source: Wikipedia)
